The waves started deep within her where he lodged, and his body answered them with waves of its own. She arched her back, pulling him more deeply inside. Her body tightened and released around him, and he understood what he'd been searching for during all the long, lonely years until he'd found her. |

D.J. opened her eyes and caught his gaze. Their souls met and mated as their bodies did the same, and as the storm receded, she pulled him to her and held him close to her heart. |

A long time later, when the night reached its darkest point, the thunder and lightning ceased and the forest around them slept. Inside they drowsed, warm in each other's arms. D.J. shifted. "My name," she whispered into his ear, her warm breath stirring Chris to life once more. "My name is Daphne Josephine." |

Chris smiled into the darkness. He was halfway home. He gathered her close and held her next to his heart throughout the rest of the long, but no longer lonely, night. |
